I fully accept that I am of the generation that has a deep addiction to social media and instant gratification. A few years ago, on my nannying journey, I made a very deliberate decision to utilize my social media as a learning tool and a way to network online. Sounds like a "duh!" moment, but it truly changed the game for me. I no longer feel like I spend time doom-scrolling or endlessly comparing myself to the fabricated lives projected on social media, but now I feel inspired by other caregivers, parents, and creators. My nanny families can attest to the enhancement of my cooking abilities, as I draw much inspiration from the many digital chefs posting. Through this journey of curating my feed to invoke positive feelings when I reach for my phone, I've read more physical books from recommendations online, created absolutely mouth-watering dishes, and done more research to learn more about the information consumed in small bites.
​Beyond the scroll and spoon, while having the honor of helping to raise and care for others, I have become an avid podcast listener. As a person with ADHD, it's helpful for me (during the quiet times of my day) to pop in an earbud and plug away. I always have some type of birth education or nanny podcast playing throughout my day during naptimes.​
